A review of Royal Mail by Stephen Keal written on Thursday 28th of November 2013
The service is getting worse. Should it be called a service - NO. A parcel or package actually, a radiator cap for a car, so only small was due for delivery to me Wednesday 28/11/13. Unfortunately both my wife and I had to go out to visit my 90 years old father-in-law. When I arrive home a card is through the letter box advising of a failed delivery, and that I can collect the package Thursday 29/11/13 from Fotherby. Street. Well ok I wasn't there to accept it so fair play I will collect. My wife actually went to pick up the package Thursday only to be told sorry it has not been checked in yet you will have to come back tomorrow or we can deliver tomorrow or Saturday. Well if you agree to that you can be waiting most of the day because our postman generally arrives with us mid to late pm. So we now have to go back to Fotherby Street Friday 30/11/13. All the lady at the collection office could say was " sorry, they won't give us any more staff." Now privatised, where is it going, will only be interested in profits for investors and a fat bonus for the Canadian CEO. I could go on with other examples of poor service, non delivery, lost items that I have experienced at the hands of this poor mail service. Oh where oh where is the competition..
